<br />Principal Doug McLaren welcomed Board members and administration. He recognized Assistant Principal Corey Telford, Assistant Principal Josh Haggerty,
<br />Student teacher Amanda Peterson, and Mr& Crabtree, Mrs. Crabtree Puts in a lot of time, energy, and passion into the school. She allows the Student Council to
<br />run as an organization of students who make decisions and she guides and directs them to do what is best for the school and Students, Mr, McLaren stated that
<br />interacting with the students is a highlight for all three administrators,

<br />Tyler Wyman Student body president asked the council tointroduce themselves as well as the Board and Administration present. Ho stated that they want mho
<br />Successful |n all activities and put their fingerprint on Hillcrest High school. Camden Treat spoke of the council's retreat where they learned about the seven
<br />habits for highly effective people. The time was spent getting N know each other, feeling comfortable, and establishing plan that would give a good direction of
<br />where they want to go. He feels they function best when they are comfortable and know each other. This year Uhaypaimdxeninmaiihh»ohmynooNoymmo|d
<br />feel more comfortable, They did hard things together during the retreat that helped them m fashion their Mission statement that will bo used axa goal for every
<br />activity: "Through friendly example we create confidence. Confidence creates unity, Unity creates passion. Passion is Our purpose."

<br />° Trailer Painting tomake the portable classrooms look better, They don't complain i[ they can do something about the situation.
<br />° Back-to-School Dance was held after the first home football game. That happened before school started and they tied to advertise through social
<br />networking, 8 was very successful.
<br />° Weston Hobbs spoke about freshman day. All of the Student Council reached out to the freshman, They believe they created a lot of confidence and
<br />brought unity. The freshmen had the loudest cheers that they have ever done.
<br />* Senior Sunrise happened at 6:30 a.m. on the first day of school. Chick-fil-A donated sandwiches to feed those who attended
<br />° During Civil War Week, th d teU spirit d activities that h | d unity th h | and contributed m school spirit. Th lunch activities
<br />to help unite the underclassmen, They had a Klondike Bar activity, "What can you do for a Klondike Bar?" and a picnic. They painted posters on
<br />many business windows that showed support. Over 'vv Students participated m the tailgate party. They had a car smash activity where a donated o
<br />car from Empey's was painted to look like a Bonneville Bee, The football players took the first hits then the principals took aturn. The crowd was on
<br />loud and Supportive during the activity.
<br />, Home coming is planned for this week with a dance, parade, spirit days, lunch activities, royalty, and powder puff football, They are trying toget
<br />underclassmen involved in these activities ovwell.
<br />Future Activities include: Sadles, sports committees, advertising, teacher appreciation committees, Spirit Committee, New Student Committee, involving Foreign
<br />Exchange Students, Halloween, |ipaynovidonofor1hesnnioro|aon.|amiogwhoreo1udenbuoofoamwoepnnoto fight each other. This ioon activity that gets o
<br />lot nf kids involved. Mrs. Crabtree stated that they have the cream of the crop in student Council, they affect the school, and they can make positive changes. She
<br />likes each new year and the new involvement itbrings.
<br />Mrs. Landers asked a question regarding freshman day. It was held on a Tuesday before school started. It was a full day of school with two assemblies, The idea
<br />ioto help kids get to classes and know their way around the school.
