Pledqe of Alleqiance Chairman McBride invited everyone in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. VIII, Prayer was offered by Greg Calder. IX. Call to Order Chairman McBride called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. X. Roll Call Brian McBride present Paul Jenkins present Amy Landers present Jeff Bird present, Greg Calder present; XI. Welcoming of Delegates and Visitors Chairman McBride excused the District Administration from this meeting. Those in attendance were Director of Maintenance & Operations John Pymm, Community Relations and Communications Phil Campbell, Bonneville Online High School Principal Corey Telford, former Board Chairman Craig Lords, Tom Hunsaker, Kevin Mudrow, Joan Payne, and Board Clerk Mary Hansen, He also reminded those who wished to speak during Public Input to sign in, chose one spokesperson, and give any written materials to the Board Clerk, XII. Board Reorqanization — Chairman McBride Chairman McBride declared the present Board organization dissolved and appointed Mary Hansen, Board Clerk, in the absence of Superintendent Shackett, to commence the Board reorganization. Mrs. Hansen called for nominations for Board Chairperson. Paul Jenkins nominated Brian McBride. Mrs. Hansen asked if there were other nominations. Hearing none, she then closed nominations and asked for all those in favor of Brian McBride as Board Chairman. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed. Mrs. Hansen congratulated Brian McBride as the new Chairman and turned the meeting over to him. Chairman McBride then called for nominations for Vice -chairperson. Greg Calder nominated Paul Jenkins. Chairman McBride asked if there were other nominations. Hearing none, he then closed nominations and asked for all those in favor of Paul Jenkins as Vice - chairperson, The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed. Chairman McBride congratulated Paul Jenkins as the new Vice-chairman. Chairman McBride then called for nominations for Treasurer. Jeff Bird nominated Amy Landers. Chairman McBride asked if there were other nominations. Hearing none, he then closed nominations and asked for all those in favor of Amy Landers as Treasurer. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed. Chairman McBride congratulated Amy Landers as the new Treasurer. Chairman McBride then called for nominations for Board Clerk. Greg Calder nominated Mary Hansen. Chairman McBride asked if there were other nominations for Board Clerk. Hearing none, he then closed nominations and asked for all those in favor of Mary Hansen as Board Clerk. The vote was 5 in favor and 0 opposed. Chairman McBride congratulated Mary Hansen as the new Board Clerk. XIII. Amend/ADi)rove the Aqenda Chairman McBride asked for a motion to approve the agenda, Board of Trustees " Brian McBride Paul Jenkins Amy Landers , Jeff Bird Greg Calder MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to approve the Agenda. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried. XIV. Consent Calendar Chairman McBride asked if any Board Member would like to remove any item from the Consent Calendar to the Regular Agenda. He then asked if any Board Member had any questions with regard to the Consent Calendar. Hearing none, he asked for a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to approve the Consent Calendar. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried. A. Reauests for Leave E. Intern and Student Teacher Assianment Name University Cooperating Teacher School Grade Dates Cole Hebdon Univ of Phoenix Discovery XV. Public Input Pursuant to Board Policy #1550 Public Participation in Board Meetinas Public Input shall be held to a maximum of 1 hour and will provide an opportunity for any Board Member, administrator, staff member, student, or patron to raise issues of interest, The Board will receive such input without comment, except to ask germane questions of those speaking. Comments should be limited to three (3) minutes. The Board will take no action relative to any items during the meeting, but may direct the Superintendent to consider such an item at a subsequent meeting. Craig Lords, former Board Chair, expressed his appreciation to the Board, for their good work, and respect for each other. Thank you! Kevin Mudrow, 3685 Autumnwood Dr., Ammon, ID: Mr. Mudrow shared with the Board a new fundraiser idea pertaining to a phone app and reality sports. The app is free to download; however, the game token to play is purchased. This fundraiser could generate a high yield for the District. There is a one-time affiliate fee of $30 and a monthly $10 fee. XVI. New Business A. Eastern Idaho Technical Colleae Memorandum of Understandina & Use Aareement - Corey Telford Chairman McBride invited Corey Telford, Bonneville Online High School Principal to present information on the agreement with Eastern Idaho Technical College (EITC). Mr. Telford explained that the District will lease four classrooms for dual enrollment classes at EITC starting in the 2016-2017 school year. The class instructors will be current teachers from Hillcrest and Bonneville high schools. The agreement includes office space and use of copy room. Students will be bussed from the high schools and classes will be held every day for two periods. Eleven courses will be taught in 54 classes. The EITC student fees include a parking pass Chairman McBride then asked for a motion to approve this Memorandum of Understanding and use Agreement with EITC. MOTION: Paul Jenkins made the motion to accept the Memorandum of Understanding and Use Agreement with Eastern Idaho Technical College (EITC) as presented. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried. B. Proposed Policv for 30-dav Review (first readina) - Mary Hansen Chairman McBride invited Mary Hansen to present policy for 30 -day review. Mrs. Hansen stated that these policies and forms were being updated to current practice. The numbers for the Bonneville Online School policy and forms will be changed to the sub group 2400 Special and Alternative Instruction. Chairman McBride asked for a motion to post these policies for 30 -day review. MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to post the policies presented for 30 -day review. Greg Calder seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. ISBA Resolutions Chairman McBride opened discussion for any ISBA resolutions the Board would like to consider. The Board did not propose any resolutions to be submitted to ISBA this year. D. 2016-2017 School Board Meetina Schedule Chairman McBride opened discussion for proposed 2016-2017 Board Meeting schedule. There was discussion about the work sessions that are held with the high school Student Councils. It was suggested that the Student Council presentations be separate from the work session due to the length of the meeting. The District administration will discuss this further with the principals and Student Council advisors. Chairman McBride then asked for a motion to approve the meeting schedule. MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to approve the 2016-2017 School Board Meeting Schedule. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions, Motion was carried. E. Acknowledaement of Charter School Petition Chairman McBride and the Board acknowledged the receipt of the River Valley Charter School petition. He stated the petition will be submitted to the District Administration for review, followed by a Public Hearing, XVII. Committee, Curriculum, and Administrative Reports A. Hiah School Construction Report - Brad McKinsey, Owners Representative Chairman McBride invited Brad McKinsey to give the high school Construction update. Mr. McKinsey informed the Board during the last ten days dirt has been moving on the new school site. Access to the site is off of 45th East. The site is fenced, gated, and posted. The Headwaters construction trailer is on the south side; the working hours are 7:00 a.m, - 6:00 p.m. Large berms have been built up and the dirt will be used for future landscaping needs, The gravel from the property is being excavated and used as needed. The sewer line is being laid and the water line and fire hydrants are in the planning. Headwaters have sent fliers out to the neighborhood with contact information provided. The loose dirt is being watered to keep the dust to a minimum. The concrete bid package is due to go to bid by the end of the month. B. Report on the State of the District — Don Trauntvein, Energy Education Specialist Chairman McBride excused Don Trauntvein, He was unable to attend this evening. XVIII.
