Chairman Brian McBride called the meeting to order at 5:39 p.m.

III. Executive Session
A. Chairman McBride stated the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 74-
206(1)(b)To consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought
against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student. The Executive
Session will be closed to the public as permitted by law.
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to enter into executive session for the reason stated. Jeff Bird
seconded. The roll call vote was:

V. Student Discipline
A. Public School Student 17-C
Chairman Brian McBride turned the hearing over to Attorney Doug R. Nelson, the duly appointed hearing officer
for the purposes of administering the hearing. Mr. Nelson stated that his role as a hearing officer is to conduct
the hearing in a way that the Board can hear all the information from the administration, the family, and the
student regarding the incidents involved and the situation so they can make an informed and appropriate
decision for the benefit of the family and the school because both interests are important. The student will be
known as 17-C for their protection and privacy. The proceedings will not be discussed outside this room by the
administration or the Board. Mr. Nelson stated that the hearing is being recorded so that the administration or
the family will be able to refer to it later if needed, A packet of all records that have come to the Board's
attention relating to this incident were given to the student's family.
VI. Move Back Into Open Meeting
Chairman McBride asked for a motion to move back into open session.
MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to move back into open session. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 4 in
favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried.

A. Student Discipline 17-C
MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to expel student 17-C for one year with immediate conditional
readmission, subject to the execution of a written agreement containing requirements and terms set by the
Bonneville High School administration. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0
abstentions. Motion was carried.
VIII. Adiournment
Chairman McBride asked for a motion to adjourn at 6:28 p.m,
MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to adjourn. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed
and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of
Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 will be held on Tuesday, September 27,
2016 at 5:30 PM in the District Board Room, 3497 N. Ammon Road, Idaho Falls,
ID.
For the purpose to conduct an Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 74-
206(1)(b)To consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints
or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent,
or public school student. The Executive Session will be closed to the public as
permitted by law.
