Standard Military Service Length and Reporting Times
Length of Military Service
Reporting Times
Report to the District by the beginning of the first
1 to 30 days scheduled work day that falls eight hours after the
end of the last calendar day of military service.
Submit an application for reemployment no later than
fourteen (14) days after completion of military
service.
31 to 180 days If the 14th day falls on a day when the District's
offices are not open or available to accept a
reemployment application, the time extends to the
next business day.
Apply for reemployment no later than ninety (90)
days after completion of military service.
181 days or more If the ninetieth (90th) day falls on a day when the
District's offices are not open or available to accept a
reemployment application, the time extends to the
next business day.
If hospitalized or recovering from an illness or injury
incurred in or aggravated during the performance of
Illness or Injury military service, the employee shall apply for
reemployment at the end of the period that is
necessary for recovery. Such period of recovery
shall not exceed two (2) years.
