Executive Session
May 6, 2015
After the Work Session
Chairperson Winchester stated that the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 67-2345 (1)(b) To
consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, em ployee,
staff member or individual agent, or public school student. The Executive Session will be closed to the public as permitted by law.
She then asked for a motion to move into executive session for the reasons stated.
MOTION: Kip Nelson made the motion to move into executive session for the reason stated. Amy Landers seconded. The roll call
vote was:

I. Personnel Items Shalene French
Chairperson Winchester asked Dr. French to discuss personnel items with the Board. Dr. French recommended that employee
E15 be placed on probation because the individual has of two consecutive years of poor performance receiving minimally
effective last year and not effective scores on the JPAS evaluation this year. This is the second time the individual has been on
probation. We will try to help the individual get back on track. Maybe need a District policy regarding what will happen when
people yo yo.
Dr. French then stated that employee F15 is still suspended. Mr. Doug Nelson is still looking at the situation with regard to
disparaging remarks about a student. Dr. French will talk to the Board next week about the recommendation. There has been
an investigation and had the individual’s permission to meet with peers at grade level. There are some concerns after talking to
these individuals that have been shared with Mr. Nelson.
II. Move Back into Open Meeting
Chairperson Winchester asked for a motion to move back into open session.
MOTION: Brian McBride made the motion to move back into open session. Kip Nelson seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0
opposed and 0 abstentions. The motion was carried.
III. Motions from Executive Session
Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be any motions from Executive Session
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to accept the recommendation to place employee E15 on probation. Kip Nelson
seconded. The vote was 4 to 0 with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. The motion was carried.
Next Wednesday Dr. French will have a list of the Category 1 teachers that will not receive a contract for next year.
IV. Adjournment
Chairperson Winchester then asked for a motion to adjourn at 2:22 p.m.
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to adjourn. Brian McBride seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0
abstentions. The motion was carried.
