MOTION:AnnetteWinchester madethemotiontodelete policy 1505forthereasons presented.KipNelson seconded.Thevotewas4infavorwith0opposedand0 abstentions.Motionpassed C.IdahoLEADSProject -ChuckShackett Mrs.Horman asked Dr.Shackett toshareabitabouttheLEADSproject.Thereare 49districts involvedintheproject.Weare tryingtodo thingsthatarenewand innovative.We appliedtobeastudiodistrict.Wehave$5,000fromtheLeadsProject and $3,000 fromthe IdahoSuperintendentsNetwork.Wehaveputthosefunds toward trainingandincorporating ProfessionalLearningCommunities(PLC)intotheDistrict’sleadershipstructure.Weareputting it alltogetherthroughsightbased PLCs.Wehavehad alotofsuccessininnovativeprojects and now itis goingdowntotheindividualschools.Wehavehadthree(3)two-dayworkshopsthat were so successful.Wedidwell inthenew state starrating system.Weare now workingonwaystoanswer thefollowing questionsthroughthePLCs:Whatdo wewantall studentstolearn?How will weknow ifthey’velearnedit?Whatdowedowhentheydon’t learnit?Howcanweextendandenrichlearningforstudentswhohave demonstratedproficiency? D.LevyRateCertification -AprilBurton Mrs.Burtonrequested ratificationof the levyratecertificationthatwas submittedtothecounties.Wesawa1%decrease inpropertyvalue.Wealsorequested $1.2 millioninemergencylevy.Butbecauseofthewaywehavestructuredthedebt,thelevyrate hasremained thesame.
