Hearing none, she then asked if there would be a motion to approve the Consent Calendar as amended. MOTION: Brian McBride made the motion to approve the Consent Calendar as amended. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions, Motion passed. Vl. Public Input Policy #1550 814tic /npu# will provide an opportunity for any Board Member, administrator, staff member, student, or patron to raise issues of interest. The Board will receive such input without comment, except to ask germane questions of those speaking. Comments should be limited to three (3) minutes. The Board will take no action relative to any items during the meeting, but may direct the Superintendent to consider such an item at a subsequent meeting. Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be anyone who would like to speak to the Board during Public Input. She asked that individuals wishing to speak, state their name and address for the record. Hearing and seeing none, she closed public input VII. New Business K Motions from Executive Session Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be any motions from executive session. MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to place employee A14 on probation. Amy Landers seconded, The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions, Motion passed. B. Differential Pay Plans - Shalene French Chairperson Winchester asked Dr. French to present the differential Pay Plans to the Board. Dr. French stated that we had pay for performance now we have a new merit pay system based on a plan our principals and teachers worked together to show that they have earned the pay. We will use Renaissance and IRI for elementary schools. We started looking at student achievement and now are children growing. The teachers felt that the classified staff should receive an incentive. If they exhibit careful use of sick leave days they will be eligible for a bonus. She then asked if Board members have questions regarding the plans, Chairperson Winchester asked aboutwhether the pay would be based on the use of sick leave. It will be used it as an additional measure, Many Of Our classified paraprofessionals are gone a lot and that effects student learning. We wanted some kind of fair measure across the board. If they could be here more than they are gone, it will positively impact students. We expect that 90% of our employees will benefit. Pay-for-performance didn't go to classified employees. Personal Leave and Vacation Leave are not affected. Using those days won't count against the individual. Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be additional questions from the Board. Hearing none, she then asked if there would be a motion with regard to the Differential Pay Plans as presented. MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to approve the Differential Pay Plans as presented. Amy lenders seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions, HonorTeachers for Pursuit of Excellence - Thomas Kennedy 1, Jami McLing — seven-year veteran - Western Civilization Z Rona Johnson — twenty -two year veteran - Western Civilization 3. Kenneth Moeller - twenty-three year veteran - Geography Western Hemisphere Chairperson Winchester asked Vice-Principal Thomas Kennedy to come forward and present the teachers to be honored for Pursuit of Excellence to the Board, Mr, Kennedy stated that the three teachers have been working for the past three years to be better teachers and help Our children learn more about history and how to teach better. They traveled across the country to work with other teachers. Chairperson Winchester thanked them for their work and stated that we are proud of them. D. Buildinq Options Survey - Scott Woolstenhulme Chairperson Winchester asked Dr. Shackett to discuss the Building Options Survey with the Board. Dr. Shackett thanked Mrs. Landers for her work with the staff on the Survey. They narrowed it down but we are not ready to present to the Board. We need to put it on the Work Session Agenda and discuss an additional item that has been brought up. There was a question regarding whether the staff is working on prices if we move toward the additional item.
