U Roll Call Board members present were, Chairperson Annette Winchester, Vice-Chairperson Kip Nelson, Amy Landers, and Brian McBride. Jeff Bird was excused. Also present were, Deputy Superintendent Murjean McConnell, Principal John Pvmm.Deputy Andy Mortimer, School Resource Officer, Assistant Principal Julian Duffey, Board Clerk Valerie Messick, and Doug Nelson, District Legal Counsel. Chairperson Winchester asked if there would beamotion to move into Executive Session. MOTION: Kip Nelson made the motion to move into executive session for the purpose of holding a hearing regarding student discipline pursuant to section 67-2345 (1)(b), Idaho Code. Amy Landers seconded. Roll call vote: Amy Landers, yes; Kip Nelson, yes; Brian McBride, yes; Annette Winchester, yes. Ill. Executive Session rt Mr. Nelson conducted the Expulsion Hearing. After testirriony was heard, Mr, Nelson excused the family and their representatives, He asked the administration to remain to discuss educational placement issues. He then excused the administration and the Board further deliberated with regard to the possible expulsion nf "Student 13R" Upon completion of the Board's deliberation, a resolution was discussed regarding the educational placement of"Student 13R^ The Board determined b/ expel "Student 13R from attendance ad the schools nf the District. The Board further determined tu conditionally readmit "Student 13rto Bonneville High School and the eCnntaret Lincoln High School with the following stipulations: 1. The student will sign and agree to execute an appropriate conduct agreement. 2. The Student will attend Bonneville High School half-time and the eCenterhalf-Ume. 3. The student will furnish the District with evidence of an evaluation by a qualified counselor showing that lie does not pose a risk of danger to himself or other students. K "Student i3R" fails to follow the conduct agreement at either school, the expulsion order will bereinstated and educational placement will be at Bonneville Online High School. Chairperson Winchester then asked for a motion h move back into open session. MOTION: Kip Nelson made the motion to move into open session. Brian McBride seconded. MOTION: Brian McBride made the motion to approve the resolution as discussed during deliberations involving "Student 13R" Kip Nelson seconded. Vote: 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion passed. Chairperson Winchester then assigned Deputy Superintendent Marjean McConnell to communicate the Board's decision to the parents of "Student 13R" and directed Valerie Messick, Board Clerk, to provide written notice of the Board's action to the student's parents by delivering a copy of the Findings, Conclusion, and Decisions to them. IV. Adiournment Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be a motion to adjourn at 11:35 a.m. MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to adjourn, Kip Nelson seconded.
