Executive Session
May 28, 2014
Superintendent Shackett’s Office
Following the Special Meeting/Work Session
Chairperson Winchester stated that the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 67-2345 (1)(b) To consider the evaluation,
dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school
student. The Executive Session will be closed to the public as permitted by law.
She then asked for a motion to enter in to executive session for the reason stated.
MOTION: Brian McBride made the motion to move into executive session for the reasons stated. Amy Landers seconded. The roll call vote was:
Jeff Bird - yes
Amy Landers - yes
Brian McBride - yes
Kip Nelson - not present
Annette Winchester - yes
I. Personnel Issues – Shalene French
Dr. French turned the time to Dr. Shackett. He stated that they had opened interviews for principal and that the process for hiring a new principal is usually
to involve parents and teachers from the school but, in this case, we didn’t know where the new principal would be placed so we couldn’t involve those
individuals. Dr. French and Mrs. McConnell conducted interviews with the top candidates and recommended the top two candidates from the interview
process to Dr. Shackett. After meeting with the top two candidates, Dr. Shackett would like to recommend Tina Orme to be hired as principal at Rimrock
Elementary School. The other finalist would be great if we have other openings. Dr. Shackett then recommended the following changes in principal
assignments: Oliver Roberts to move to Woodland Hills; Brady Johnson to move to Iona; and Dan Page to move to Ucon.
II. Move Back into Open Meeting
Chairperson Winchester asked for a motion to move back in to open session at 2:02 p.m.
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to move back into open session. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions
Motion passed.
III. Motions from Executive Session
Chairperson Winchester asked if there would be any motions from executive session.
MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to hire Tina Orme to be principal at Rimrock Elementary and to transfer Principal Oliver Roberts to Woodland Hills,
Principal Brady Johnson to Iona, and Principal Dan Page to Ucon. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions.
Motion passed.
