SEX OFFENDERS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY
The Board of Trustees recognizes the danger sex offenders pose to student safety. In
an effort to protect students while under the control and supervision of the District,
registered sex offenders, of whom District officials have knowledge, shall be denied
entrance to school property or school-related activities regardless of location pursuant
to Idaho Code § 18-8329.
Guidelines
Notification of Information Regarding Registered Sex Offenders
1. Building principals shall receive annual training and shall check the sex offender
registration online as necessary.
2. Principals shall be informed that registry information may only be used for the
protection of the public and penalties for misuse are provided in Section 18-8326
Idaho Code.
3. Building principals shall disseminate sex offender registry information received to
school staff.
Abuse of Registry Information
1. Employees who abuse registry information by using such for purposes of harassing,
intimidating, committing a crime against, causing harm to any person, or damaging
property shall be subject to disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
2. Individuals who are found guilty of abusing registry information shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall be subject to imprisonment or fine pursuant to Idaho Code
Chapter 83.
Posting Notices on Non-school Property Used by School District Students
The District will cooperate with the property owner of any non-school location at which
school activities will regularly occur to post notices that the property is being used by a
school, pursuant to Idaho Code Section 18-8329.
DEFINITIONS
School Property: Includes but is not limited to buildings, facilities, and grounds on the
school campus, school buses, school bus stops, school parking areas, and any facility
being used for a school function.

Sex Offenders on School Property
Sex Offender: means an individual convicted of an offense listed and described in
section 18-8304, Idaho Code, or a substantially similar offense under the laws of
another state or in a federal, tribal, or military court or the court of another country.
