Pav to Plav Discussion - April Burton Chairman McBride invited Mrs. Burton to discuss Pay to Play fees. Mrs. Burton explained that in our last Board meeting held on April 13, 2016, information was presented about the Pay -to -Play process for students involved in sports and the question of providing game passes to the parents of student athletes. It was determined that if passes were given to parents, the loss of revenue would be felt by the schools, If the athletic fee per student was increased $25, the fee would not benefit every sport. Mrs. Burton suggested that the schools advertise the season passes and the punch cards; both reduce the gate admission fee. Discussion also included the projected increase of transportation costs as the District schools participate in 5A sport contests. B. Telford Academv Update - Scott Woolstenhulme, Ty Salsbery Chairman McBride invited Mr, Woolstenhulme to discuss Telford Academy Update. Due to increase of best practices and student services in our current middle schools, Mr. Salsbery stated the reasons for students to attend Telford Academy have declined, the current teachers have accepted new positions in the District, and students will be returning to their neighborhood schools for the next school year. Thus it was recommended to close Telford Academy at the end of the school year. The future for the Telford building could be used as needed office space for District instructional coaches and specialists. A more favorable place for expelled middle school students would be Lincoln High School campus. C. Patron Survevs - Scott Woolstenhulme Chairman McBride invited Mr. Woolstenhulme to discuss Patron Surveys, The District is considering a contract with Qualtrics Enterprise Insight Platform, a marketing firm, which produce surveys for quality feedback and more patron response.
