GRADING AND PROGRESS REPORTS PROCEDURES
Kindergarten (K)
Students’ progress and achievement will be reported on a standards based report card
giving the following information:
3 – Has met Idaho and District Standards
2 – Working toward Idaho and District Standards
1 – Not meeting Idaho and District Standards
NA – Not assessed at this time
Grades One (1) through Three (3)
Students’ progress and achievement will be reported on a standards based report card
giving the following information:
4 – Exceeding Idaho State and District Standards
3 – Meeting Idaho and District Standard
2 – Working toward Idaho and District Standards
1 – Not meeting Idaho and District Standards
NA – Not assessed at this time
Grades Four (4) through Twelve (12)
1. Students’ progress and achievement shall be reported on the basis of the letter
grades:
A = Superior;
B = Above Average, Good;
C = Average;
D = Below Average, Poor;
F = Failure; U-Unsatisfactory.
2. Alternative high school students should refer directly to their school’s grading policy.

Grading Scale
1. Letter grades shall have the following point ranges, numerical values, and
interpretations:

B+ 87 – 89 3.33 4.33 Above Average, Good
B 83 – 86 3.0 4.0 Above Average, Good
B- 80 – 82 2.67 3.67 Above Average, Good
C+ 77 – 79 2.33 3.33 Average
C 73 – 76 2.0 3.0 Average
C- 70 – 72 1.67 2.67 Average

Mark Descriptor Explanation
I Insufficient There is insufficient evidence that the student has
attained at least a proficient level of understanding on
the essential course outcomes. The student will need to
be provided additional time and support to attain
proficiency.
P Proficient There is sufficient evidence that the student has
attained at least a proficient level of understanding of
essential course outcomes.
W Withdraw Voluntary withdrawal from the course prior to the 20th
day of the course. Will not impact the students GPA.

Grading and Progress Reports Procedures
Insufficient Grades
Insufficient grades shall be made up by the end of the next succeeding grading period
except by special arrangement or as requested by the teacher
Permanent Records
1. Plus (+) and minus (-) signs will accompany letter grades on students’ permanent
records.
2. An incomplete grade will be recorded as an “F” on the permanent record.
3. For a class with a pass or fail designation at the secondary level, a “P” for passing or
an “F” for failing shall be shown on the student’s permanent records.
