Chairman Brian McBride called the meeting to order at 11.53 a.m.

III. Welcome Visitors and Deleaations
Chairman McBride expressed appreciation to Technical Careers High School (TCHS) and Bonneville Online High
School (BONS) for hosting today's meeting. Those in attendance were TCHS Principal Craig Miller, TCHS Student
Council Advisor Terri Angell, TCHS Student Council President Ty Barnard, TCHS Student Council Vice President
Logan Holverson, TCHS Student Council Activity Leader Jared Barnard, TCHS Student Council Junior Representatives
Alex Perkes and Kaitlyn Smith, TCHS Student Council Sophomore Representatives Cade Reynolds and Rhett Meyer,
BOHS Principal Ty Salsbery, Superintendent Dr. Charles Shackett, Deputy Superintendent Marjean McConnell,
Assistant Superintendent Scott Woolstenhulme, Director of Curriculum & Instruction Michaelena Hix, Director of Safe
Schools, Maintenance & Operations John Pymm, District Receptionist Samantha Williams, former School Board
Chairman Annette Winchester, Kristi Carlquist, Architect Kurt Karst, Headwaters Construction representatives Stan
Marshall, Eric Albaugh, Logan Bingham and Brent Douglass, Hummel Architects Deirdra Parker, Renee Artis, and Scott
Straubhar, Design Committee members Christie Slater and Michael Graham, Owners Representative Brad McKinsey,
Renee Cook, Heidi Southwick, and Board Clerk Mary Hansen.
IV. Technical Careers Hiah School Student Council Presentation
Chairman McBride invited Principal Craig Miller to introduce the TCHS Student Council to the Board. TCHS Student
Council President Ty Barnard expressed his appreciation to Principal Craig Miller, TCHS teachers, and to the Board for
their support. TCHS Student Council Activity Leader Jared Barnard listed the activities TCHS were involved in this past
year: 4th of July Parade, Pumpkin Catapults, Veteran's Day, Minute -to -Win -It Games, Pinewood Derby, Senior BBQ,
and building a flagpole. TCHS Student Council Vice President Logan Holverson listed the competitions the students
competed in: Skills USA Competition, National Association of Home Builders National Conference, BYU-I Welding
Competition, and Livestock Judging. Kaitlyn Smith and Alex Perkes expressed their appreciation to the Board for their
support of the Technical Careers program and activities,
V. Bonneville Online Hiah School Student Council Presentation
Chairman McBride invited Principal Ty Salsbery to introduce the BOHS Student Council to the Board. Mr. Salsbery
informed the Board that due to the evolution of Bonneville Online Schools, the school will have an active Student
Council next year starting at the middle school level. A few highlights from this year include improved and well attended
Thursday activities and more participation in District organized activities, i.e., 5(h grade bike ride. Twenty-seven
diplomas will be presented at graduation next week. Next year, BOHS will have three full-time teachers for Social
Studies, Math, and English.
VI. Items for Discussion
A, Final Hiah School Desian Develoament - Kurt Karst, of Alderson Karst & Mitro Architects
Chairman McBride invited the Kurt Karst to present the final high school design. Mr. Karst informed the Board the
high school planning is progressing positively and that many of the building systems have been set in place, i.e.,
mechanical, plumbing, structural, etc. He mentioned the architecture design team have addressed the Board's

concerns from the February meeting in the final plan. Bid package No.1 for underground utilities has been put out
for bid; the final bid package should be ready by late September 2016, The Design Team from Hummel Architects
explained the updated changes to the high school design, including, but not limited to, widening the lobby near the
auditorium, placing seating in the common areas, moving the weight room from the second floor to the main floor,
adding a two-lane running track on the second level, placing walls around the rooftop to enclose HVAC mechanics,
placing resin based exterior material to indicate traffic flow and mark important areas, placing visible hallway
restroom signage, double angled staircase in main lobby, improved theater entrance lighting, outside entrance to
library for community use, improved bus loop to keep student and bus traffic separate, etc. The placement of the
seminary building has not been determined. Groundbreaking is still set for June 2016. The Board approved the
design and to go forward in drafting the plans.

VIII. Executive Session
A, Chairman McBride stated that the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 74-
206A(1)(a) Considering a labor contract offer or to formulate a counteroffer. The Executive Session will be closed
to the public as permitted by law.
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to enter into executive session for the reason stated. Paul Jenkins
seconded. The roll call vote was:

Chairman Brian McBride asked for a motion to move back into open session at 1:34 p.m.
MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to move back into open session, Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 4 in
favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried.
XII. Adiournment
Chairman Brian McBride asked for a motion to adjourn at 1:58 p.m.
MOTION: Paul Jenkins made the motion to adjourn. Greg Calder seconded. The vote was 4 in favor with 0 opposed
and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried.
