This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a partnership between Help Inc. and
Bonneville School District 93.
I. Help, Inc. is a private, non - profit child abuse prevention center. One of the agency's
aims is to build strong families and to promote parents' abilities to nurture their
children and assure they grow up healthy and safe. This aim is accomplished through
programs designed to support families through community wide child abuse
prevention programs, parenting programs, family learning, support services and crisis
intervention services.
Bonneville Joint School District 93 believes in helping develop lifelong learners who
will be confident, contributing members of society. Bonneville Joint School District
93 believes that parents are an integral part of their child's educational successes and
strive to provide supports for parents as their child learns and grows. Together, the
Parties enter into this Memorandum of Understanding to mutually promote
supporting families in the education of their children. Accordingly, Help Inc and
Bonneville Joint School District 93, operating under this MOU agree as follows:
II. Help, Inc. and Bonneville Joint School District 93 enter this MOU intending to
provide:
• Migrant Education Program Director, Lance Robertson will make final
assignments regarding children and families receiving services. Holly
Whitworth, Parenting Programs Coordinator will meet with Lance Robertson
to assure that program plans and services and individual goals for families are
being executed.
Home visits will be provided monthly by a PAT Educator/Home Visitor. PAT
Educators/Home Visitor will make appointments with the families and
conduct the visit to families who will benefit from such visits in the home
using the certified PAT curriculum that is based on the learning domains for
Early Childhood education and development. Additional resources will be
used for families with children in older primary grades and secondary schools.
PAT educators/Home Visitor will construct visits around reading and
language, school readiness, mathematics, graduation and family learning with
the child and parent . The visit will also include information on district
activities, individual school activities and ways for the parent to support their
child's learning. Appropriate community referrals and support will be given
based on the families need.
• Monthly PAT meetings will be provided for Migrant families in the district.
The monthly meetings will include dinner for attendees, developmentally
appropriate learning activities, school readiness, reading and language,
mathematics, graduation information, parenting information and community
resource information for attendees.
• Children and their families enrolled in the Migrant Program will be the target
population of the services.
• The children and families receiving services will benefit from the monthly
meetings and home visits by improved academic readiness of children
attending, strengthening partnerships among parents, teachers, principals,
administrators and other school personnel; to increase parental involvement in
schools and improve the developmental and academic progress of children
enrolled in the Migrant Program.
• Bonneville Joint School District 93 will provide to Help Inc. to assist it in
providing the above services the amount of $ 12,000 dollars for the services ,
from August 2014 — May 2015. The collaborative project will rely on Help.
Inc. to provide fiscal administration. The fiscal contact persons are, April
Burton, Financial Supervisor for District 93 and Sandy Clark, at Help Inc.
III. Each party has appointed a person to serve as the official contact to coordinate
activities of each organization in carrying out this MOU. The initial appointees of
each organization are:

IV. The term of this MOU is for a period of 1 years beginning August 20, 2013. This
term may be extended upon written mutual agreement. It shall be reviewed annually
to ensure that it is fulfilling its purpose and to make any necessary revisions.
Either organization may terminate this MOU upon (30) days written notice without
penalties or liabilities.
The signing of this MOU is not a formal contract, but implies that the signatories will
strive, to the best of their ability to reach, the objectives stated in the MOU.
