Executive Session of the Board of Trustees
June 14, 2017

District Office after the 7:00 p.m. Regular Meeting
I, Executive Session
A. Chairman Bird stated that the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code 74-206(1)(b) -
To consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a
public officer, employee, staff member, individual agent or public school student. The Executive Session will
be closed to the public as permitted by law.
The Board entered Executive Session at 10:31 p.m. and reconvened in Dr. Shackett's office at 10:35 p.m.
MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to enter into executive session for the reason stated. Paul Jenkins
seconded. The roll call vote was:

Ill. Employee Discussion
Discussion from 10:35 p.m, to 11:24 p.m.
Chairman Bird discussed with Superintendent Shackett about sending out a patron survey without Board input or
approval. It was concluded that any survey or communication relating to a bond decision of the Board, in which
the community will vote on, needs to be presented to, approved by, and then supported by the Board prior to
soliciting patrons and/or collecting community data, thus helping to maintain a positive working relationship
between the Board and the Superintendent.
IV. Move Back into Open Meeting
Chairman Bird asked for a motion to move back into open meeting at 11:24 p.m.
MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion to move back into open session. Chad Dance seconded. The vote was
5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried.
Open meeting minutes are posted on the Minutes Regular Meeting (Budget Hearing) 06-14-2017.
