Bonneville Joint School District No. 93
GRADE ORGANIZATION
The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 has instructional levels for grades
kindergarten through twelve. The grouping and housing of instructional levels in school
facilities shall be according to plans developed by the Superintendent and approved by
the Board.
Guidelines
1. Instructional programs shall be coordinated between each grade and between levels
of schools.
2. Grade level determinations will be based on the following criteria at each grade
level:
a. Age in grades K–6;
b. Attainment of academic and attendance requirements in grades 7–8. c. Number of credits earned toward graduation in grades 9-12.
3. Students will officially matriculate to the next grade level on the first day of the
commencement of the school year or in high school when a sufficient number of credits have been earned and officially transcripted.
4. In high school, student’s grade levels may also be changed after earned credits are
officially transcripted.
5. Factors to be considered in classroom assignments are:
a. class size,
b. peer relations,
c. learning style of students, d. instructional style of individual teachers, e. classroom teacher’s recommendation, and
f. any other variables that will affect the performance of the student.
6. The criteria for grouping should be based upon the learning goals and objectives being addressed and the student's ability to achieve those purposes.
