PROVISION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees acknowledges that all children and youth have the opportunity to receive an educational program which is commensurate with their abilities, needs and talents. It is also recognized that students
may require special education programs and special services that are supplemental to
or different from regular classroom instruction. Therefore, the District shall provide
special services and special education programs consistent with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations and adopted Board policy.
Guidelines
1. Special services may include psychological, social work, speech and language,
audiological, student and parent counseling, gifted and talented education,
homebound services and special education.
2. For students identified as being eligible for special education services under Public
Law 108-446, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), related services will
be provided when appropriate as applicable under State and Federal laws.
3. Information, records and reports derived from such services shall be considered
confidential, and will be managed in accordance with the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974, P.L. 93-380, and Section 513 of the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), P.L. 108-46, and adopted District policy.
4. Provisions of such services will be contingent upon parental consent and in
accordance with Section 33-2001 Idaho Code, P.L. 108-446, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the Bonneville Joint School District Special
Education Handbook.
