STUDENT SUPERVISION ON ACTIVITY AND FIELD TRIPS
The full time and attention of the bus driver shall, of necessity, be on proper driving
procedures while transporting students to and from activity and field trips. Therefore,
those individuals who are supervising, or chaperoning, shall assure proper control of
students riding the bus.
Guidelines
1. The building principal /designee shall appoint an individual responsible for
chaperoning and /or supervising the activity or field trip.
2. The chaperon /supervisor shall assure that behavior and noise levels are consistent
with District policy #8240 Student Conduct and Discipline on Buses and Student
Conduct and Discipline on Buses Procedure #8240P1, and Bus Safety Rules
#8240P2.
3. The building principal in conjunction with the Transportation Manager shall assure
that all students, staff members, and /or chaperones receive training regarding bus
rules.
4. Bus drivers shall report to the Transportation Manager the names of supervisors or
chaperones that do not properly control student behavior while on an activity or field
tri p.
