ELIGIBILITY FOR FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE MEALS
Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 school meal program, as part of the National
School Lunch Program and National School Breakfast Program, must make free and
reduced priced meals available to eligible children.
Guidelines
1. The Child Nutrition Supervisor/designee shall be the authority designated to determine if
children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals under the current federal guidelines.
Applications may be verified for cause.
2. In the event a request for a free or reduced-price meal is denied, the case may be
referred, at the request of the applicant, to the Child Nutrition Supervisor/designee for
further review and appropriate action.
a. Information regarding the Child Nutrition Programs will be made available to the
households of children attending District schools in compliance with Federal
Guidelines.
b. Application forms are available:
1) Online on the District webpage, or
2) At the Child Nutrition Office.
c. Procedures for issuing free and reduced-priced meals and establishing account
balances shall insure that the recipient is treated in the same manner as all other
students at the point of sale and all other necessary areas.
d. Information regarding student eligibility shall be strictly confidential.
4. The School Child Nutrition Program must be operated in such a manner that no child
shall be discriminated against because of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or
age.
