HomeMy WebLinkAboutIona City Rental Agreement 2019-2020Clty of Iona Basketball & 8onnevilleJolntSchool District 93 Facilities Agreement The purpose ofthis document is to create and maintain an agreementfor a combined partnership between the City of Iona and Bonneville Joint School District 93 for the 2019 and 2020 City of Iona Youth Basketball League. The provisions ofthe agreementare as follows: a. The City ofIona Sports Director will organile, advertise and direct youth basketball league for children In grades K-8 within the Bonneville Joint School District 93. b. The City of Iona and 8.JSO will both be advertlsed·as equal partners on registration forms and team uniforms. c. BJSD will provide the City ofIona basketball league with the following elementary schools free ofrental charges, to hostgamesduring the eight-week season running from Saturday January 4, 2020 to Saturday February22, 2020. The City of Iona will be allowed to use the following elementarysites: Iona, Discovery, Bridgewater, Summit Hills, Rimrock and Woodland Hills. Other possible sites Include MtValley and Ucon dependingonregistration demand. d. Gym temperatures will be set no higher than 659 In order to help with the heating costs. e. The City ofIona will supply the necessary game management as well as "Hall Monitors• for those sites without hallway gates. Including Discovery, Bridgewater and Summit Hiiis. f. BJSOwill provide the City ofIona with four full size basketball gyms, at no charge, to host games during the afore mentioned eight-weekseas~.The City ofIona would preferably like to usetheAuxiliary Gym at SHS, Sandcreek gym, Thunder Ridge gym or Hillaest gym. (The reason for the four gym suggestions are because inviting nature the gyms provides to famllies. Ammon Elementary would suffice forafull -siie gym, however, we feelthatifpeople knewthatthe games would be played at Bonneville, Sandcreek or Hillcrest the number ofparticipants would increase. g. The City of Iona will have first priority ofthegym timesat all sites from 7 am to 4 pm. During the afore mentioned dates. This would Indude anythingalready on the schedule. We realiie there are high school gamesorwrestling tournaments scheduled already and we will notovershadow those contests h. The City of Iona will advertise and conduct registration. i. The City ofIona will develop and write league participation rules, to be reviewed by BJSD. j. Payment forparticipation will be made payable to thecity of Iona. Ex1>ected participation fee is $40.00. a. The City ofIona will provide a Certificate of liability and property damage •certificate of Insurance• in the amountof$1,000,000, naming Bonneville Joint School District 93 as an additional insured priortothe date ofthe event or effectivernntal date; or k. The City ofIona will provide a waiver ofliability to be signed by parents/guardians ofthe participants. I. The City of Iona will hire all necessary personnel for the duration of this league and conduct payroll for employee com pensatlon I.e., officials, building managers and hall monitors. These City of Iona employees will be responsible for the cleaning ofthe building and dumping garbage cans during the afore mentioned dates. m. Anyone hired to help with the basketball league will be considered City of Iona Seasonal Employees and besubjectto fill outall necessary paperwork prior to working. The City ofIona will conduct background checks on all coaches and employees. n. The City ofIona will pay for incurred equipment costs i.e., team and offldals uniforms, basketballs, score books and whistles. o. BJSD will provide at no charge, access to scoreboards and game docks for the afore mentioned secondary gyms. p. BJSD will continue to be able to use all City ofIona facilities at no charge. q. Afterequipmentcosts, payrolls to officials, building managers, hail monitors and league directors has been settled, the City ofIona and BJSO will split SO/SO the remaining revenue. Payment toall City Employees will come at the end ofthe 2019-2020 basketball seasons. An end-of·year revenue check would be written to Bonneville Joint School District #93. It is the City of Iona's recommendation that BJSD portion ofthe revenue be divided between the host schools and go directly to those facilities. Our hope is, byproviding a combined league; wecould take advantage ofthe City ofIona's sports directing suc:oes.s, and BJSD's good name, to provide the children ofour school district with the best league available to offer both recreation opportunities a.swellas skiff building foundations.
