Pledge of Alleaiance Chairman Brian McBride invited everyone to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. VII. Prayer was offered by Kip Nelson. VIII. AmendlAwrove the Agenda Chairman McBride asked for a motion to approve the agenda. MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to approve the Agenda. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried. XII. Consent Calendar Chairman McBride asked if any Board Member would like to remove any item from the Consent Calendar to the Regular Agenda. He then asked if any Board Member had any questions with regard to the Consent Calendar. Hearing none, he asked for a motion to approve the Consent Calendar. MOTION: Greg Calder made the motion to approve the Consent Calendar. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Motion was carried. A. Temporary Suspensions XIII. Public Input Pursuant to Board Policy #1550 Public Particination in Board Meetinas:Public Input shall be held to a maximum of 1 hour and will provide an opportunity for any Board Member, administrator, staff member, student, or patron to raise issues of interest. The Board will receive such input without comment, except to ask germane questions of those speaking. Comments should be limited to three (3) minutes. The Board will.take no action relative to any items during the meeting, but may direct the Superintendent to consider such an item at a subsequent meeting. There was not any public input in this meeting. XIV. New Business A. Bonneville County Farm Bureau - James Williams, Vice President, Board of Directors Chairman McBride invited Samantha Williams to present.information from the Bonneville County Farm Bureau. Mrs. Williams informed the Board that the Farm Bureau has been working with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Club from Technical Careers High School. The Farm Bureau's MAC trailer (Moving Agriculture into the Classroom) program began in November 2016. It allows the agriculture students to talk to and provide interactive lessons to elementary students, i.e., teaching how butter is made and flour comes from ground wheat, etc. D93 News reporter Phil Campbell produced a video to share with the community about this program. To express their appreciation to the district, the Bonneville Farm Bureau presented a $500 check for the FFA program at TCHS. Phil Campbell brings the district to life! Chairman McBride expressed his appreciation Phil and his efforts to inform the community of the happenings of District 93. The Board acknowledged the Farm Bureau for their generous donation. B. Proposed Policv for 30-dav Review (first readino) - Marjean McConnell Chairman McBride invited Marjean McConnell to present policy for 30 day review. MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to post the policies presented for 30 -day review. Paul Jenkins seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Old Business A. Proposed Policy for Final Adoption (second readino) - Marjean McConnell Chairman McBride invited Marjean McConnell to present policy for Final Adoption. MOTION: Paul Jenkins made the motion to post the policy presented for final adoption. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 5 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 abstentions. Committee, Curriculum, and Administrative Reports A. Hiah School Construction Report - Brad McKinsey, Owners Representative Chairman McBride invited Brad McKinsey to give the Thunder Ridge HS construction update. The cold weather has slowed progress, but has not stopped it. Working in colder weather requires tenting and heating of the work areas and keeping the ground thawed. It needs to be warm to keep from freezing and to cure the concrete correctly. Mr. McKinsey stated the concrete outside perimeter and interior footings are being done in the gymnasium area; the block around the gymnasium will start soon. The second floor concrete has been poured in sections. The third floor will be poured weather depending. As the underground plumbing and electrical lines are competed on the first floor concrete will then be poured. Steel is up to the roof level on the east side of the building. Soon the trusses will be set over the auditorium. Drone camera is still taking pictures of the construction progress. B. Procedure Change Notification - Marjean McConnell Chairman McBride invited Marjean McConnell to present changes to procedures. Call for Agenda Items for Upcoming Meetinas Chairman McBride read a personal statement expressing his appreciation to the Board and to Bonneville Joint School District 93. He stated the district is a family friendly, safe and wholesome environment. His family has recently moved from the district and he will no longer be serving on the Board of Trustees for Zone 3 and Board Chair as of January 20, 2017.
