FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT <br />5495 <br />(also 7640) <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />Positive Time Reporting <br />FEDERAL POSITIVE TIME REPORTING <br /> <br />Many programs administered by Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 are funded <br />through federal sources and as such are required to meet federal guideline s in order to <br />qualify. If federal funds are used for an employee’s salary, the employee is required to <br />record time spent working on a federal program on their time card as hours worked <br />through means of “positive time reporting”. <br /> <br /> <br />Guidelines <br /> <br />Recording Time <br /> <br />Any vacation, sick leave, compensatory time taken, holiday pay, o r other non-worked <br />pay shall be distributed according to the default index(es) assigned to the employee’s <br />position. <br /> <br />Review <br /> <br />A quarterly review and reconciliation shall be performed to ensure time is being charged <br />appropriately. <br /> <br />Employee Responsibility <br /> <br />Employees are responsible to: <br /> <br />1. Correctly charge actual time worked to the appropriate funding source(s) associated <br />with any federal programs. <br /> <br />2. Work with their supervisor to determine correct index(es) to use on their time card. <br /> <br />Supervisor Responsibility <br /> <br />Each pay period, supervisors are required to verify hours were actually spent working <br />directly on the federal or other programs and correct index(es) were used in coding the <br />time card. <br /> <br />Director of Special Education and Federal Programs/Designee Responsibility <br /> <br />The Director of Special Education and Federal Programs/Designee will: <br /> <br />1. Discuss needs with the supervisor; <br /> <br />2. Closely monitor activities, expenses, and revenue of the federal program(s); <br />
