STATEMENT OF GUIDING PRINCIPLES
We believe that good homes, schools and churches are basic and necessary cultural
institutions in the world of free men. Each complements and supports the efforts of the
others in building a strong, progressive society; and each has a special role in molding
the life of each citizen.
America is great because the worth of the individual is held above the State. The
Founding Fathers carved out a constitutional government which is intended to serve the
people. Education should serve to strengthen this principle of freedom and create an
environment which will make it possible for every individual to develop to his /her
greatest potential. The wealth of the Nation lies in its human resources and initiative as
well as the natural resources.
Every citizen has the right to enjoy the personal and collective benefits of an affluent
society and, in return, each must accept his /her personal responsibility to that society.
Each should recognize the value and dignity of work and make his /her contribution
through a vocation of his /her ability and choice.
We believe that education consists of more than learning factual material from the
printed page. We believe that modesty, proper grooming, cleanliness in body and
speech, and the ability to meet and communicate with others on a high and refined level
are of paramount importance.
We believe that young men and women should learn the value of time and money
through honest work, study and achievement.
