In keeping with the educational philosophy as specified in Policy Number 100, the
Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees hereby sets the following
general objectives:
1. District Objectives
a. To provide a District organization which will best serve the patrons and students:
b. To provide safe, healthful attractive classrooms and work stations;
c. To provide adequate equipment and material available for students and
teachers;
d. To achieve the above using good business management practice in a financially
prudent manner;
2. Administrative Objectives
a. To provide competent personnel in administrative positions who will constantly
evaluate programs and activities in terms of the needs of the individual;
b. To provide a practical program projected toward meeting future building facility
needs, and properly maintaining existing facilities;
c. To provide safety programs;
d. To provide safe transportation of students;
e. To provide effective accounting of school receipts and expenditures;
To provide policies that will recognize and encourage personal responsibilities
and rights;
3. Instruction Objectives
a. To provide competent, qualified teachers in every teaching position;
b. To provide textbooks with contents which will support democracy, freedom and
National and individual rights and responsibilities, and which will provide for the
development of:
(1) Fluency in reading, with special emphasis in the first four grades;

(2) Mastery of the fundamental processes of mathematics and the ability to
handle the necessary individual transactions required in the everyday
business world; and
(3) State, National and international understanding of History, Geography,
Civics and the Fine Arts;
c. To provide testing and evaluation programs to determine measurable progress
of students and effectiveness of teaching;
d. To provide courses designed to challenge and fit the needs for vocational and
academic pursuits following the completion of the 12th grade;
e. To provide courses in domestic skills, consumer economics and education;
To provide programs that prepare all students with special needs for purposeful,
productive lives, including:
(1) Full compliance with P.L. 94 -142, The Education for All Handicapped
Children Act;
(2) Special services for all exceptional students;
(3) Professional and supportive services for the emotionally impaired; and
(4) Supportive programs for parents of the exceptional child to help them
understand their unique needs.
4. Counseling and Social Service Objectives
a. To provide adequate counselors at the secondary school level (7 -12) to aid the
students in the selection of courses of study to meet their current and post
graduation needs;
b. To provide ancillary staff assigned to all schools for the purpose of early
diagnosis and treatment of social, emotional and behavioral problems;
c. To provide parent counseling and support programs for patrons desiring such
services;
5. Student Relations and Activities Objectives
a. To encourage high personal standards of conduct among students and between
schools;
b. To encourage functional student government under adult direction and
supervision;

c. To encourage student pride and responsibility for atmosphere and appearance of
the school and student behavior; and
d. To encourage extracurricular activities to provide further opportunities to achieve
academic, cultural and physical activities.
