INSTRUCTION <br />2411 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 504 STUDENTS <br /> <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Bonneville <br />Joint School District No. 93 will identify and evaluate students in need of special <br />services or programs in order that the required free appropriate education may be <br />offered. <br /> <br /> <br />Guidelines <br /> <br />1. A student who may need special services or programs pursuant to Section 504 is <br />one who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits his/her ability <br />to participate in or benefit from the District’s educational programs. <br /> <br />2. A student may be qualified for services under Section 504, even though they are not <br />eligible for services pursuant to the provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities <br />Education Act (IDEA). <br /> <br />3. Students identified as individuals with exceptional needs under IDEA are not <br />addressed in this policy. Their needs are provided for in policy #2400 Provision of <br />Special Education and policy #2410 Special Education Handbook as well as under <br />state and federal laws and regulations. <br /> <br />4.
