STUDENTS <br />3006E <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />PROOF OF RESIDENCY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS <br />Why is this policy necessary? <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 enrollment continues to grow at a rate of three to <br />four percent (3% - 4 %) annually. With growth comes increases in our school population <br />that tax our resources and overpopulate the schools. <br />The Board must ensure that students enrolled in our schools are actual residents of <br />District. <br />Can / temporarily enroll my child without proof of residence or signing an <br />affidavit? <br />Board policy requires that a parent/guardian provide either proof of residence or a <br />signed and notarized affidavit. This requirement must be completed before a student <br />can be enrolled. <br />You may complete and submit an open enrollment form to the office of the school you <br />wish your child to attend. If accepted, your student would be enrolled for the current <br />school year without proof of residence in the district. <br />Can the affidavit process be completed at the local school? <br />The Affidavit of Residency must be completed at the Bonneville Joint School District <br />Office located at 3497 N. Ammon Road in Idaho Falls. <br />May 1 submit other types of documentation that prove my residency in the <br />Bonneville School District? <br />There are no alternative methods for providing proof of residence beyond those listed in <br />the policy. <br />All school employees responsible for student enrollment will strictly adhere to proof of <br />residence guidelines, without exception. <br />What if 1 am buying a home in the Bonneville School District and want to register <br />my child immediately? <br />Parents /guardians who have entered into a valid, binding contract for the construction or <br />purchase of a permanent residence in the Bonneville School District are permitted to <br />enroll their children in school on a conditional basis. <br />Parents /guardians must provide the school with a copy of their contract, and are <br />granted four (4) months from the beginning of the school year or from the date of <br />enrollment to provide their child's school with the required proof of residence. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
