STUDENTS <br />POSTSECONDARY DUAL ENROLLMENT <br />3031 <br />(also 2470) <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />The purpose of the postsecondary dual enrollment program is to allow students to reach <br />desired career goals as efficiently as possible. Therefore, the Board of Trustees of the <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 directs the Su perintendent/designee to develop <br />procedures and agreements with post secondary institutions that will result in the <br />elimination of duplicative learning experiences, the provision for efficient entry level <br />training programs, and enhanced opportunities for students. <br />As a result of the program, high school students will be provided the opportunity to earn <br />college credit while enrolled in high school courses. <br />Guidelines <br />Eligibility <br />Eleventh (11th) and twelfth (12th) grade students who are not foreign exchange students <br />are eligible for postsecondary dual enrollment. <br />Notification <br />1. The District will provide general information on postsecondary dual enrollment to <br />high school students by March 1 of each year. <br />2. Students seeking postsecondary dual enrollment must inform the Building Principal <br />of their intent to enroll prior to taking courses. <br />Counseling <br />1. To the extent possible, the District will provide counseling services to eligible <br />students and their parents /guardians before they enroll in postsecondary courses. <br />2. The District must receive a signed form from the student and the students' <br />parents /guardians indicating that the signees have received the information about <br />and understand their responsibilities for postsecondary dual enrollment. <br />Course Credit and Graduation Requirements <br />1. The District will grant academic credit to a student who meets the requirements of <br />this policy and successfully completes course work at a postsecondary institution. <br />2. The student must provide appropriate documentation of postsecondary course <br />content /requirements to the Su perintendent/designee. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
