STUDENTS <br />EXTRA/CO- CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES CODE OF CONDUCT <br />3387 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Because students who participate in extra /co- curricular activities are representatives of <br />the Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 and the community when performing in <br />public, they are expected to behave in ways that are consistent with good <br />sportsmanship, leadership, and appropriate moral conduct. The primary purpose of the <br />extra /co- curricular activity program is to promote the physical, mental, aesthetic, social, <br />emotional, and moral well -being of students through participation and competition. <br />Guidelines <br />1. All extra /co- curricular activities should be designed to promote character - building <br />qualities of participation and leadership. <br />a. Students should not bring discredit to themselves, their family, the school, or the <br />community. <br />b. Participants involved in Board - approved extra /co- curricular activities must <br />demonstrate the same level of responsibility and behavior as is expected in the <br />classroom. Students are expected to: <br />1) show respect for faculty and other members of the school community; <br />2) refrain from engaging in or being an accomplice to illegal acts such as, but <br />not limited to, stealing, extortion, or vandalism; <br />3) refrain from the use of profanity, obscenities, gestures, any acts of gross <br />disrespect or insubordination or the representation of such acts; <br />4) refrain from actions that could disrupt or invade the rights of others or cause <br />disorder. <br />2. Adult supervisors, advisors, and /or coaches are responsible for the actions of the <br />student group, team, or club and as such are expected to require ethical and moral <br />behavior of students during all performances and /or competitions. <br />3. Administrators, participants, adult supervisors, parents, spirit groups, and <br />support/booster groups involved with extra /co- curricular activities are expected to <br />promote sportsmanship, ethics, morality, and integrity in all phases of the process. <br />a. The general appearance, dress and conduct of a group or team must bring credit <br />to the group, the school, and the community. <br />b. Participants carry the responsibilities of setting good examples at all times, on <br />any school premises or at any school sponsored activity, regardless of location. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
