STUDENTS
CONCUSSION AND HEAD INJURIES
3545
The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees recognizes that concussions
and head injuries are common among children and adolescents who participate in
competitive sports activities. The Board also acknowledges that if a concussion or head
injury is not properly evaluated and managed, the risk of catastrophic injury or death is
significant. Therefore, the Superintendent /designee
is directed to disseminate information to coaches, athletic directors, and trainers regarding
the nature and risk of concussions or head injuries. Such information shall outline the
dangers associated with a student athlete continuing to play after receiving a concussion
or head injury.
Guidelines
1. Annually, each athletic director /designee will distribute information regarding head
injury and concussion to all parents /guardians of students participating in
competitive sports activities.
a.
