COMMUNITY RELATIONS <br />4320 <br />(also 5245) <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />DISRUPTION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS <br />The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees has the power and <br />duty to prohibit entrance, to prohibit loitering, and to provide for the removal from <br />any District premises or any school sponsored activity, regardless of location, of <br />any individual or individuals who disrupt the educational processes or whose <br />presence is detrimental to the morals, health, safety, academic learning, or <br />discipline of the students or other individuals. <br />Guidelines <br />1. The Board authorizes the principal /designee or site administrator to determine <br />whether the conduct of an employee or visitor is disruptive to the educational <br />program. <br />2. The principal /designee or site administrator is authorized to take immediate <br />action necessary to prevent the disruptive conduct and /or remove the <br />disruptive individual from school property, including, but not limited to seeking <br />assistance from local law enforcement. <br />3. If the offender is an employee, the Superintendent /designee shall determine <br />appropriate disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal. <br />4. If the offender is a visitor, discipline may involve actions up to and including <br />future prohibition from entering any school premises or attending any school <br />sponsored activity, regardless of location. <br />5. The Superintendent /designee shall submit the case to the appropriate law <br />enforcement agency when the circumstances warrant such action. <br />6. Pursuant to Idaho Code §18 -916, anyone who upbraids, insults, or abuses a <br />teacher in the presence and hearing of students is guilty of a misdemeanor. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Disruptive conduct: includes, but is not limited to: <br />• any conduct intended to, or having the effect of, obstructing, disrupting, or <br />interfering with teaching, service, administrative disciplinary functions, or <br />any school sponsored activity; <br />physical abuse or threat of harm to any person; <br />sexual harassment of any person; <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
