HomeMy WebLinkAbout5435 Wellness and Benefits CommitteeNON-INSTRUCTIONAL OPERATIONS 5435 Page 1 of 2 Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 WELLNESS AND BENEFITS COMMITTEE The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees acknowledges its commitment to provide insurance coverage for the District's eligible employees. A Wellness and Benefits Committee shall be established for the purpose of studying insurance and making recommendations regarding possible adoption and implementation of benefits for District employees. Guidelines Organization of the Committee 1. The Insurance Committee shall be composed of the following: a. The Director of Human Resources, who will serve as the Chairperson of the Wellness and Benefits Committee; b. Two (2) representatives of the District's Building Administrators; c. Three (3) representatives of the District's teachers with at least one (1) representative from the teachers representative education association; d. Three (3) representatives of the District's classified employees; e. One (1) member of the District's retired personnel; and f. The District’s Chief Financial Officer. 2. Members shall be appointed by their respective groups and/or representative organizations for a period of five (5) years. 3. Human Resources Benefits Manager, who will serve as the Executive Secretary of the Wellness and Benefits Committee. Function of the Committee 1. Grant approval to new insurance companies requesting to work within the guidelines of Procedures for Approval of New Optional Insurance and Investment Companies #8510P. 2. Ensure that employees desiring payroll deduction for optional insuranc e work within the guidelines of procedure. Work to provide the best insurance coverage for District employees and alter existing coverage for District employees as needed.
