PERSONNEL <br />5850 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br /> <br />CERTIFIED EMPLOYEE SUSPENSION <br /> <br />The Superintendent/Designee, acting as the authorized representative of the Board of <br />Trustees, may suspend a certified professional employee for not more than twenty-five <br />(25) work days if it is determined that removal of such employee from his/her duties is in <br />the best interest of the District’s students. While under administrative suspension the <br />employee shall be entitled to full pay. <br /> <br /> <br />Guidelines <br /> <br />1. A certified professional employee may be suspended by a verbal notice for any of the <br />following reasons: <br /> <br />a. A material violation of any policy of the Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />Board of Trustees; or <br /> <br />b. A material violation of any lawful rules or regulations of the State Board of <br />Education; or <br /> <br />c. Any alleged violation of the Code of Ethics for Idaho Professional Educators or <br />conduct that could constitute grounds for revocation of a teaching certificate. <br /> <br />2. Verbal notice of suspension shall be reduced to writing and sent by certified mail <br />within 48 hours. Such written notice shall contain the following information: <br /> <br />a. Reasons for the suspension; <br /> <br />b. Notice of a meeting to review the Superintendent/Designee’s action with the Board <br />of Trustees; and <br /> <br />c. A statement that the employee is prohibited from entering school property or <br />contacting District personnel or students during the workday. <br /> <br />3. The Superintendent/Designee shall immediately notify the Board of Trustees of his/her <br />action to suspend an employee. <br /> <br />4. A time to review the matter shall be scheduled no later than the next regularly <br />scheduled meeting of the Board. <br /> <br />a. Upon review of the matter, the Board may elect to: <br /> <br />1) Lift the suspension, <br />2) Extend the suspension, or <br />3) Implement the provisions of Idaho Code §§ 33-513(5), 33-514, or 33-515.
