HomeMy WebLinkAbout8107 Non-public School Student, Ineligible Student, and Non-student TransportationNON - INSTRUCTIONAL 8107 Page 1 of 2 NON - PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENT, INELIGIBLE STUDENT, AND NON - STUDENT TRANSPORTATION No passenger other than properly enrolled school pupils may ride District school buses except when special circumstances exist and space is available as determined by the Superintendent /designee. Guidelines Written Permission Required 1. Non - public school students, ineligible students, or non - students shall obtain prior written permission from the Superintendent /designee in order to ride on a District school bus. a. If special circumstances exist, a written request must be submitted to the Superintendent/designee. b. The Superintendent /designee may make exception on a case -by -case basis. 2. District school bus drivers shall request and receive a properly endorsed written permission document from a non - public school student, ineligible student, or non - student prior to allowing that individual to board a school bus. Rates for Transportation 1. The District shall recover the full cost of transporting non - public school students, ineligible students, or non - students. 2. The rate to be charged for transportation shall be determined prior to the start of each school year. DEFINITIONS Ineligible Students: any properly enrolled public school student who does not otherwise meet ridership eligibility by virtue of school or District boundary, distance, age, health, or safety. Non - student Rider: any transported person who is not properly enrolled in a pre- kindergarten through twelve (12) school program.
