NON - INSTRUCTIONAL <br />8110 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />BOARD AUTHORIZATION OF TRANSPORTATION <br />Each year, no later than the regular Board meeting in August, the Superintendent/ <br />designee shall present recommendations to the Board of Trustees in the following <br />areas: bus routes for the coming school year, school safety busing zones, school bus <br />backing -up locations, and non - transportation zones. <br />Guidelines <br />1. The Board shall consider student health and safety in making decisions with regard <br />to such recommendations. <br />2. The Board delegates to the Superintendent /designee authority to change <br />established bus routes as needed during the school year. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Safety Busing Zone: the transportation of students who reside less than one and one <br />half (1'/2) miles from school when in the judgment of the Board, the age, health, or <br />safety of the students warrants such action. <br />School Bus Backing -up Location: a location approved by the Board which allows <br />backing up of school buses on certain public or private roadways.
