NON - INSTRUCTIONAL OPERATIONS <br />8130 <br />(also 5885) <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />BUS DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 is committed to obtaining the finest drivers <br />possible. The Board of Trustees requires excellence in the safe transportation of <br />District students and directs the Superintendent /designee to recruit and hire school bus <br />drivers who demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and respect. <br />Guidelines <br />Requirements <br />1. Each bus driver shall meet the qualifications established by the State Department <br />of Education and the District, including, but not limited to the following: <br />a. Be twenty -one (21) years of age or older; <br />b. Have a High School Diploma or GED; <br />c. Have a good driving record; <br />d. Be of good moral character; <br />e. Meet federal CDL drug testing standards; <br />f. Possess a valid and appropriate commercial driver's license (CDL) and other <br />endorsements required by law; and <br />g. Be medically qualified under the physical examination standards of the Federal <br />Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (see Bus Driver Physical Exams #8135). <br />2. Each driver shall: <br />a. complete an application form, <br />b. present a satisfactory work history as verified through professional references, <br />c. demonstrate the ability to manage resources, students, and personnel <br />effectively, and <br />d. adhere to all applicable District policies and procedures. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
