NON - INSTRUCTIONAL OPERATIONS <br />8170 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />OPERATION OF SCHOOL BUSES <br />The safety of the children is the primary consideration which overrides all others in <br />school bus transportation and must be given paramount consideration in all decisions <br />and action, including but not limited to the evacuation of students, including lifting <br />students with injuries and /or disabilities, turning corners, stopping, starting, and speed. <br />School buses used to transport students in the Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />shall be operated in conformity with law and with rules and regulations of the <br />Department of Law Enforcement and the State Board of Education. <br />Guidelines <br />1. Drivers are required to properly wear the driver's seat belt whenever the bus is in <br />motion. <br />2. Drivers are required to inspect the vehicle and special equipment pursuant to <br />District policy #8195 Inspection of School Buses prior to transporting students. <br />3. Drivers shall at all times operate the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. <br />4. Transportation employees are responsible for the proper use of all school vehicles <br />and property. <br />5. All drivers shall drive defensively at all times. <br />6.
