NON - INSTRUCTIONAL OPERATIONS <br />8200 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />ACTIVITY TRIP TRANSPORTATION <br />Transportation is a vital and critical element the educational experience. The use of <br />school buses shall be strictly limited to school activities. Buses shall not be loaned or <br />leased to non - school groups. <br />Guidelines <br />Assigning Activity Bus Drivers <br />The Transportation Manager shall be responsible for selecting and assigning bus <br />drivers for activity trips. <br />1. Buses shall only be operated by a qualified driver (see Bus Driver Qualifications <br />#8130, Bus Driver Physical Exams #8134, Criminal and Drivinq Record #8137, <br />Criminal and Drivinq Record Procedures #8137P, School Bus Driver Training <br />#8140, and School Bus Driver Training Procedures #8140P). <br />2. Regular school bus drivers may be given the opportunity to take activity trips <br />only if: <br />a. The assigned route is not negatively impacted; <br />b. Individual weekly time restraints are not impacted; or <br />c. Driver's ability to meet the trip time schedule. <br />Authorized Riders <br />Only authorized participants, professional staff, chaperones assigned by the <br />administration, or individuals approved by the Transportation Manager may ride an <br />activity bus. <br />Passenger List <br />A duplicate copy of the passenger list will be made for all activity trips. <br />1. One (1) copy shall remain with the professional staff member in charge on the bus. <br />2. One (1) copy shall be given to the building principal /designee before the bus <br />departs. <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
