HomeMy WebLinkAboutCovid 19 Leave Information - FAQs 3497 North Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401 🞠 (208) 525-4400 🞠 Fax (208) 557-6800 🞠 www.d93schools.org FAQ of Families First Coronavirus Response Act 1.If I am advised to self quarantine because of travel or due to symptoms related to the Coronavirus, will I be allowed to use sick leave? ●When possible, employees will be instructed to Telework (work from home) before being allowed to utilize Emergency Paid Sick Leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. ●Under the guidance of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, Emergency Paid Sick Leave is eligible for all employees who have been employed by the district for a minimum of 30 days and have qualifying reasons related to Coronavirus (Emergency Paid Sick Leave Form) ○Up to 2 weeks of emergency paid sick leave (80 Hours) for full time employees. ○Part time employees will receive leave for their scheduled hours for a 2 week period. ○Emergency paid sick leave will expire on December 31, 2020 and is not eligible to transfer or payout. ●Employees will receive 100% pay for these qualifying reasons related to Coronavirus: 1.is subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19; 2.has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19; 3.is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and is seeking a medical diagnosis; ●Employees will receive 2/3 pay for these qualifying reasons related to Coronavirus: 4.is caring for an individual subject to an order described in (1) or self-quarantine as described in (2); 5.is caring for his or her child whose school or place of care is closed (or child care provider is unavailable) due to COVID-19 related reasons; or 6.is experiencing any other substantially-similar condition specified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ●After utilizing the emergency paid sick leave, employees must complete the FMLA/LWOP Form to determine whether they are eligible for FMLA or Conditional Leave without Pay. ○May use accumulated leave for extended absence ○Leave for reason 5 may be eligible for partial pay for up to 10 weeks 2.If I exhibit symptoms of Coronavirus how soon can I return to work? ●If you have been exposed to Coronavirus or exhibiting symptoms you will be instructed to self quarantine from work for a minimum of 14 days. ○Employees will work from home when possible ○Employee will seek medical diagnosis from health provider to determine necessity to quarantine ○Under the guidance of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act employees may be eligible for emergency sick leave if they meet the qualifying reasons listed above. ○ After utilizing the Emergency Sick Leave, an employee may use accumulated leave or request Conditional Leave without Pay ( FMLA/LWOP Form ) 3.If I have traveled outside of Idaho or to an area that is experiencing community spread of the coronavirus, am I able to return to work? ●On April 2nd, Bonneville county was identified by the CDC as community spread. If you are having symptoms of Covid 19 or may have been exposed please follow the guidance above. We strongly encourage all employees to work at home whenever possible and only report to work as approved by your supervisor to perform essential job responsibilities.
