Naming of new elementary schools – the committee’s three (3) preferred names along with background <br />material for each has been prepared. <br /> <br />ƒ 21st street site – Dan Page – committees top three (3) name in order of votes received: <br />o Rimrock Elementary School <br />o Windridge Elementary School <br />o Foothill Elementary School <br /> <br />ƒ 49th street site – Terri Boge – committee’s top three(3) names in order received: <br />o Mountain View Elementary <br />o Woodland Elementary <br />o Windy Ridge Elementary <br /> <br />Names of schools received by the committee will be posted on the district website for input only and the <br />Board will take action at next meeting. <br /> <br />6. Proposed Policies– Assistant Superintendent Dr. Roberts requested a 30-day review within the schools. <br />MOTION: Annette Winchester made the motion to accept 30-day review in the schools. Seconded by Kip <br />Nelson. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />7. 2006-2007 Proposed calendar – Assistant Superintendent Dr. Roberts presented from the calendar committee <br />two 2006-2007 school year calendars and is requesting approval for option B which was the committee’s <br />recommendation. <br />MOTION: Kip Nelson made the motion to accept Option A 2006-2007 school year calendar for 30-day <br />review within the schools. Seconded by Annette Winchester. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />8. Boundaries – Karen Judy presented a new Planning Study on the 21st school site, grades 7-11 along with <br />boundary breakdown by grade and map and also informing the Board of parent concerns from the public <br />hearings. <br />ƒ Summit Park will stay at Iona <br />ƒ Miller Estates will stay at Ucon <br />ƒ Pinewood Estates will go to Ucon <br />ƒ Falls Valley to Fairview not Ucon <br />ƒ Bone area – patrons of that area have been asked to come up with a common ground of where they <br />would like their children to attend. We want to let them decide and if they can not come up with an <br />idea, the Board will make the decision. <br />ƒ Redrock subdivision will attend Ucon. <br /> The changes will be discussed and put on the January regular meeting of the Board of Trustees for decision. <br /> <br /> IX. Committee, Curriculum and Administrative Reports <br />1. Policies for Initial Consideration – Assistant Superintendent Dr. Roberts presented 21 policies, procedures, <br />forms and exhibits for Board review. <br /> <br />Superintendent Shackett announces the assistant principals for Hillview and Ammon elementary. <br />ƒ Lanie Keller – Ammon Elementary <br />ƒ Gordon Howard - Hillview Elementary <br /> <br />X.
