All in favor, motion passed. <br /> <br />VII. Public Input <br />Policy # 1550 - Public Input will provide an opportunity for any Board Member, administrator, staff member, student or patron to raise issues of <br />interest. The Board will receive such input without comment, except to ask germane questions of those speaking. Comments should be limited to 3 <br />minutes. The Board will take no action relative to any items during the meeting, but may direct the Superintendent to consider such an item at a <br />subsequent meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII. Old Business <br />1. Budget Reduction – April Burton power point presentation on percentages of curs not positions. List of recommendations <br />Supplemental levy without raising tax rate in August <br />MOTION: Annette Winchester made the motion to accept the Budget Reduction as presented, seconded by Kip Nelson. All in favor, motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />IX. New Business <br />1. Football Equipment – Doug McLaren IHSAA require permission from Board to use the football equipment for 11 consecutive <br />MOTION: Kip Nelson made the motion to accept the use of the football equipment for summer school camp, seconded by DeVere Hunt. All <br />in favor, motion passed. <br />2. Reduction In Force Policy – Dr. Roberts policy 1324 gives immediate approval. turns over to Marjean McConnell used ISBA for advice and <br />district attorney recommendation for final approval. <br />MOTION: Annette Winchester made the motion to accept the Reduction in Force Policy, seconded by Kip Nelson. All in favor, motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />X. Committee, Curriculum and Administrative Reports <br />1. Policy Suspension – Dr. Roberts as part of the resolution the board did last month, conflict or language. Suspension for the next month, June <br />they will be put into three different categories. In a revised form showing new laws and requirements and ask for final approval, if change in <br />procedure or language for 30 days it will be posted for that. Recommendation to suspend until the June Board meeting. <br />MOTION: DeVere Hunt made the motion to suspend the 71 policies and or procedures, seconded by Annette Winchester. All in favor, <br />motion passed. <br />2. School Presentations <br />a. Mountain Valley Elementary School – Principal, Brian Armes – see official presentation in Board minute binder <br />i. Jennifer Horrocks, PTO President – first year opportunity to try a wide variety of fund reaisers : grandpartens day; field <br />day; donation toatal 10k ; microwaves for cafeteria; die cut machine, art supplies. Rtym sitkcks and playground <br />equipment. Cara Green – inaugural walk a thon – mustang market on Fridays; raise for plauground equipment; once a <br />month restaurant night – proceeds donated back to school.gift casrds; fall carnival; silent acutions – box top, soup labels <br />etc.bookfair for library at barnes and noble. <br />b. Cloverdale Elementary School – Principal, Rich Coburn – see official presentation in Board minute binder <br />i. Kirsten Cook, Vista Coordinator – 5000 books donated; 10k in donations from business; partnerships with state and <br />federal entities; quarterly familu read nights…; most important one is increasing parent volunteers. Over 8k hours of <br />volunteers <br />c. Ucon Elementary School – Principal, Brady Johnson– see official presentation in Board minute binder <br />i. Nanci Wadsworth, PTO President – three 1k grants for elmo projectors – did mini grantsx to help teachers; purchase fax <br />machine, listening stations; finished AR movie parties; fall carnival and box tops two ways to earn money, in the process
