Any contract automatically renewed shall be for the same length as the term stated in <br />the current contract and at a salary no lower than the previous year. <br /> <br />4. An employee’s failure to return a Renewable Contract within ten (10) calendar days <br />may be interpreted by the Board as a declination of the right to automatic renewal or <br />the offer of another contract. <br /> <br />Non-Reemployment <br /> <br />Category 1 Contract Certified Staff <br /> <br />Certified staff on a Category 1 Contract are specifically offered a contract for the limited <br />duration of the ensuing school year, and no further notice is required by the District to <br />terminate the contract at the conclusion of the contract year. <br /> <br />Category 2 Contract Certified Staff <br /> <br />Certified staff on a Category 2 Contract shall be provided a written statement of reasons <br />for non-reemployment no later than May 25th and are not entitled to a review of the <br />reasons or decision not to reemploy by the Board. <br /> <br />Category 3 Contract Certified Staff <br /> <br />1. Certified staff on a Category 3 Contract whose work is found to be unsatisfactory, <br />shall be notified in writing regarding the following probationary proceedings: <br /> <br />a. Period of probation will be for a minimum of eight (8) weeks; <br /> <br />b. Conditions of probation; and <br /> <br />c. Areas of work which are deficient. <br /> <br />2. Upon written request, a Category 3 certified employee, who is not reemployed, shall <br />be given the opportunity for an informal review of such decision by the Board (Policy <br />#5018 Informal Review) <br /> <br />Renewable Contract Certified Staff <br /> <br />1. Certified staff on a Renewable contract, whose work is found to be unsatisfactory, <br />shall be notified in writing regarding the following probationary proceedings: <br /> <br />a. Reasons for the probationary period; <br /> <br />b. Provisions for adequate supervision and evaluation of the employees’ <br />performance; and <br />
