STUDENTS <br />3100 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />h. is a previous drop -out, <br />i. is a court or agency referral; <br />stops attending school before the end of the school year; <br />k. is an underachiever; <br />is unmotivated; or <br />m. exhibits other characteristics that indicate the student is at high risk of dropping <br />out of school. <br />Programs and District Plan <br />1. The District will provide a remedial and support program for any student who is at <br />risk of dropping out of school. <br />2. The District plan designed to retain students in a school setting will be the <br />responsibility of the Superintendent or the designated At -risk Coordinator and will: <br />a. emphasize a comprehensive team approach that includes the <br />Su perintendent/designee, principal, parent /guardian, teacher, student, <br />community service provider, business representative, or others; <br />b. include objectives designed to meet the identified needs of at -risk students and <br />to retain those students in school; <br />c. be designed to use community resources that are available to serve at -risk youth; <br />d. provide for parental involvement, such as participation in developing student <br />academic plans and training programs for parents; and <br />e. provide for review of individual profiles for at -risk students. <br />3. The District plan may also: <br />a. include alternatives; and <br />b. provide for the referral of students who drop out to other programs; <br />4. Alternative high school programs conducted during the school year will be conducted <br />off -site or scheduled at a time when school is not in session and shall comply with <br />the State Board of Education Rules Governing Thoroughness (IDAPA <br />08.02.03.110). <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br />
