In the event that the parent cannot be reached and in the judgment of the <br />principal or person in charge immediate medical attention is required, the injured <br />student may be taken directly to the hospital and treated by the physician on call. <br />c. When the parent is located, he /she may elect to continue the treatment or make <br />other arrangements. <br />5. In cases of accidents, the building Principal shall be responsible for filling out a <br />District Accident Report Form (3540F). <br />6. Copies of the Accident Report Forms will be maintained in the building Principal's <br />office. <br />7. Building Principals, teachers and staff will not diagnose illness and /or prescribe <br />medication. <br />8. The procedure for dispensing required medications will comply with Policy No. 3510, <br />Dispensing Medication. <br />9. If a child develops symptoms of illness while at school, the responsible school <br />officials shall do the following: <br />a. Isolate the child immediately from other children in a room or area segregated for <br />that purpose. <br />b. Inform the parent/guardian as soon as possible about the illness and request that <br />the child be picked up. <br />c.
