COMMUNITY 4240 <br />RELATIONS Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />employee of the school may not be authorized to sign checks drawn on the bank account <br />of a School-Support organization operating at that school. <br /> <br />High School Activities Association Regulations <br /> <br />The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) Rules and Regulations prohibit <br />remuneration of any kind from any source outside the local School Board in return for <br />services rendered in instructing or coaching any high school athletic team. Said prohibition <br />shall also apply to any coach, instructor, or advisor of other teams, clubs, groups, etc. <br />Coaches, instructors, or advisors may receive appreciation gifts from team members, <br />students’ parents, or community organizations that do not exceed $50. <br /> <br />Parameters for Use of the District’s Name, Logo, or Mascot <br /> <br />The use of the District or any school name, logo, or mascot by School-Support <br />organizations is granted upon annual approval by the School Board. The Superintendent <br />or designee may revoke the authorization to use the District’s name, logo, or mascot if the <br />Superintendent or designee determines that the booster organization has failed to comply <br />with the terms of this policy or any other District policy. The Superintendent or designee <br />will notify the School-Support organization in writing of the reason for the revocation. The <br />School-Support organization may appeal the revocation to the Board whose decision will <br />be final. The appeal must be filed in writing and submitted to the Board Clerk no later than <br />five business days from the date of the Superintendent/designee’s letter. <br /> <br />Donations <br /> <br />Any item that a school-support organization proposes to contribute to the school must <br />meet all legal requirements, including safety codes. Before accepting any such donatio n, <br />the Superintendent or designee must ensure that funding is available to install and <br />maintain all donated equipment, such as playground equipment, in compliance with all <br />safety requirements. All items donated become the property of the District.
