To promote the safety of students riding in school buses, the Bonneville Joint School
District No. 93 Board of Trustees requires that bus drivers, or any District employee
providing transportation for students, shall not exceed a maximum of ten (10) hours of
actual driving time or fifteen (15) hours on -duty time within a twenty -four (24) hour
period of time.
Guidelines
1. Drivers must have eight (8) hours of continuous off duty time before driving a school
bus again.
2. Drivers may not exceed sixty (60) hours of driving in a week.
3. Drivers shall use one of the following to validate applicable driving hours on all out -
of- District trips in excess of one - hundred (100) miles:
a. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's over - the -road hours -of-
service trip logs;
b. A trip agenda; or
c. Other approved trip documentation.
