THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> 1330 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br /> <br />POLICY REVIEW AND EVALUATION <br /> <br />The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees shall review <br />approximately one-fifth (20%) of the policy manual annually in an effort to keep its <br />written policies up-to-date so they can be used consistently as a basis for Board action <br />and administrative decision. <br /> <br />1. Guidelines <br />a. In accordance with State Board of Education rule, all policies and <br />procedures addressing the following topics shall be reviewed as an <br />ongoing process. <br />i. School climate <br />ii. Discipline <br />iii. Student health <br />iv. Violence prevention <br />v. Weapon-free schools <br />vi. Substance abuse-tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs <br />vii. Drug-free school zones <br />viii. Suicide prevention <br />ix. Student harassment <br />x. Building safety including evacuation drills <br />b. The Board shall evaluate the execution of its policies by the staff. <br />c. The Board shall rely on the staff, students, and community to provide <br />evidence of the effect of its adopted policies and consider the results <br />during the review process. <br />d. A notation of the date of review shall be made at the end of each policy. <br />e. If changes are made as a result of the review, the date of revision shall <br />also be noted at the end of the policy. <br />f. Any changes made solely to correct a typographical error, correct a <br />change in document name or number, to add or correct references or <br />previously approved changes to definitions will not constitute a full revision <br />and will be noted as a correction instead of an revision.
