INSTRUCTION <br />2545 Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br />Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 <br /> INTERNET FILTERING <br /> <br />The Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 Board of Trustees recognizes the <br />importance of providing students with positive, productive educational experiences through the District’s Internet services. To the extent practical, the Board directs the Superintendent/designee to: <br /> <br /> Promote the safety and security of users of the District’s online computer <br />network, when using electronic mail, chat rooms, instant messaging, and other forms of direct electronic communications; <br /> Prevent user access over the District computer network to, or transmission of, <br />inappropriate material via Internet, electronic mail, or other forms of direct <br />electronic communications; <br /> Prevent unauthorized access including so called “hacking” and other unlawful <br />online activity; <br /> <br /> Prevent unauthorized online disclosure, use, or dissemination of personal identification information of minors; and <br /> Comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, the Neighborhood Children’s <br />Internet Protection Act, and Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act. <br /> Guidelines <br /> <br />1. To the extent practical, technology protection measures (or “Internet filters”) shall be <br />used to block or filter Internet, or other forms of electronic communications, access to but not limited to the following inappropriate information: <br />a. Obscene material; <br /> <br />b. Child pornography; c. Material deemed harmful to minors; or <br /> <br />d. Other information that is determined to be in violation of District policies. <br /> 2. The following principles shall be the guide for Internet website access and site filtering: <br />
