(208) 525-4400 Fax (208) 529-0104 www.d93scliools.org <br />D(, 11 �1 €, jink, ni j, "m Wl,'ndcon <br />Executive Session <br />May 8, 2013 <br />5:00 PM <br />1, Call to Order <br />Chairman Lords called the meeting to order at 5:20 p.m. <br />IL Roll Call <br />Those Board members in attendance were Chairman Craig Lords, Vice-chairman Annette Winchester, Trustee Wendy Harman, and Trustee DeVere Hunt. Others in <br />attendance were Superintendent Chuck Shackett, Deputy Superintendent Marjean McConnell, Principal Jason Lords, Assistant Principal Thomas Kennedy, School <br />Psychologist Amy Holloway, Board Clerk Valerie Messick, and District Legal Counsel Doug Nelson. <br />Chairman Lords asked for a motion for the Board will enter into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code Section 67-2345 (1)(b) To consider the evaluation, dismissal or <br />disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student and Idaho Code <br />Section 67-2345 (1)(c) To conduct deliberations concerning labor negotiations. <br />MOTION: Anette Winchester made the motion to move in to executive Session for the purposes stated, Wendy Herman seconded. The roll call vote was: <br />Annette Winchester— yes <br />Wendy Horman — yes <br />DeVere Hunt— yes <br />Craig Lords — yes <br />Motion passed <br />111, Executive Session <br />X Appoint Hearing Officer - Expulsion Hearinq <br />Chairman Lords appointed Doug Nelson as Hearing Officer for the Expulsion hearing, <br />Mr. Nelson explained the procedure that would be followed during the Expulsion hearing. He then swore in potential witnesses and asked the administration to present <br />their information. He asked for any questions or clarification and their asked the student and his step-father to present information. The Board then asked clarifying <br />questions, The student and step-father were released and the Board deliberated regarding whether or not to expel "Student 130" from attendance at the schools of the <br />District. <br />Chairman Lords asked for a motion to move out of executive session and move in to open meeting to attend the regularly scheduled Board meeting at 6:55 p.m. <br />MOTION: Wendy Herman made the motion to move out of executive session and move into open session, seconded by DeVere Hunt. Vote: 4 in favor with 0 opposed and 0 <br />abstentions. Motion passed, <br />The Board returned to executive session at 9:20 p.m. upon a motion to convene back into executive session to discuss personnel items and negotiations made by DeVere <br />Hunt and seconded by Annette Winchester. The Roll call vote was: <br />DeVere Hunt —Yes <br />Kip Nelson — Yes <br />Wendy Herman — Yes <br />Annette Winchester —Yes <br />Craig Lords — Yes <br />Motion passed. <br />Those Board members in attendance were Chairman Craig Lords, Vice-chairman Annette Winchester, Trustee Wendy Horman, Treasurer Kip Nelson and Trustee DeVere <br />Hunt. Others in attendance were Superintendent Chuck Shackeft, Deputy Superintendent Marjean McConnell, Human Resources Director Shalene French., Chief Financial <br />and Operations Officer April Burton, and District Legal Counsel Doug Nelson. <br />B. Personnel Items - Shalene French <br />The following items were discussed: <br />I Possible disciplinary action <br />2 Possible notice of non-renewal of contract. <br />3 Possible reassignment of administrative personnel to a teaching position that is available in the District, <br />4 Possible open positions for reassignment <br />5 Potential litigation <br />
