The Executive Session will be closed to the public as permitted by law. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairperson Kip Nelson asked for a motion to move into Executive Session for the reason stated. <br /> <br />MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion to enter into executive session for the reason stated. Amy Landers seconded. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairperson Nelson then asked for a roll call vote: <br /> <br /> Jeff Bird yes Kip Nelson yes <br /> Amy Landers yes Annette Winchester excused <br /> Brian McBride excused <br /> <br />I. Personnel Items Shalene French <br />Vice-Chairperson Nelson asked Dr. French to discuss personnel items with the Board. Dr. French discussed actions of employee B15 and asked the Board <br />to ratify the suspension of the employee for the reasons discussed. The principal has interviewed three of the female students and will interview the other <br />three. B15 has been suspended until Monday. The subject that B15 teaches does not warrant any touching. The teacher admitted requesting that the kids <br />become friends on Instagram. The teacher admitted give a gift to one of the students. Some of the students are 17, but Dr. French is not sure the ages of <br />the others. The SRO has been involved in this investigation. This situation just came to light today when a student went to a teacher to confide the situation <br />and then the student spoke to a school counselor. There is an ongoing investigation. If we need to terminate, Dr. French will give more information to the <br />Board. <br /> <br />II. Move Back into Open Meeting <br />Vice-Chairperson Nelson asked for a motion to move back into open session. <br /> <br />MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion.to move back into open session. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 3 in favor, 0 opposed, and 0 abstentions. The <br />motion was carried. <br /> <br />III. Motions from Executive Session <br />Vice-Chairperson Nelson then asked if there were any motions from executive session. <br /> <br />MOTION: Amy Landers made the motion.to ratify the administration’s decision to suspend employee B15. Jeff Bird seconded. The vote was 3 in favor, 0 <br />opposed, and 0 abstentions. The motion was carried. <br /> <br />IV. Adjournment <br /> Vice-Chairperson Nelson then asked if there would be a motion to adjourn at 8:55 p.m. <br />. <br />MOTION: Jeff Bird made the motion.to adjourn. Amy Landers seconded. The vote was 3 in favor, 0 opposed, and 0 abstentions.
