Policies for Final Consideration 10 policies, procedures, forms and exhibits Add On VI. Consent Calendar F. Trip Request HHS Robotics-Regional Robotic Competition (FIRST), Denver, CO. March 29- April 2, 2006. MOTION: Randy Haws made the motion to accept the consent calendar as amended. Seconded by Kip Nelson. All in favor. Motion passed. VII. IDLA Idaho Digital Learning Academy – Jeff Taylor IDLA is a state sponsored, web-based educational program set up to provide Idaho students with greater access to a diverse assortment of courses working in collaboration with public schools. This virtual high school was created to address the educational needs of all Idaho students: traditional, home schooled, at-risk, and fidgeted learners. ƒ Core courses, advance placement, dual credit, foreign language and elective courses are available in grades 7 thru 12. ƒ Courses designed to meet Idaho standards, use End of Course Assessments, and reviewed by the State. ƒ Department of Education curriculum specialists. ƒ Delivered via the Internet and available 24 hours, 7 days a week. ƒ Classes limited to 25 students. ƒ Faculty are Idaho certified in the content area and are highly qualified. ƒ Take a class not available on campus. ƒ Make up lost credit. ƒ Amend a scheduling conflict. ƒ Earn college credit. ƒ Study abroad. ƒ Work and/or participate in athletic. VIII. Old Business Construction Financial Update – Mike Sorenson ƒ Two new elementary schools are 3-4 weeks behind. ƒ RMMS about 42% complete. ƒ Change orders and interest will be coming in. IX. Public Input Policy # 204.10 - Public Input will provide an opportunity for any Board Member, administrator, staff member, student or patron to raise issues of interest. The Board will receive such input without comment, except to ask germane questions of those speaking. Comments should be limited to 3 minutes. The Board will take no action relative to any items during the meeting, but may direct the Superintendent to consider such an item at a subsequent meeting. Luke Hale, HHS student – concerned about IDLA, will this help bring back the Broadcasting class, and will it be offered over the internet? Funds that were cut are making an impact and we have lost tremendously, we have taken a huge leap back. This needs to be taught in the classroom not over the internet. Joe Bodily, BHS Public Relations Coordinator – Rose presentation proved to be a success high spirits of teachers and students. People all around the valley are hearing about the great things we are doing. X. New Business 1. Proposed Policies – Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Bruce Roberts requested 30-day review with in the schools in the district. MOTION: Wendy Horman made the motion to accept the 30-day review with the schools in the district. Seconded by Kip Nelson. All in favor. Motion passed. 3. Resolution Calling for Annual Trustee Election for Trustee Zone 3 read by Board Clerk, Jamie Smith. See official notice in Board binder for Declaration of Candidacy. XI. Committee, Curriculum and Administrative Reports 1. Policies for Initial Proposal – Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Bruce Roberts presented 3 polices, procedures, forms and or exhibits for Board review only. XII.
